Before you can create a barcode image, you need to allocate a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) to your product first.

Step by step guide

This guide will walk you through the process of generating and downloading your barcodes using My Numberbank.

Ensure you have enough credits to create barcodes. You need one credit per product type. If you need additional credits, you can purchase them directly in My Numberbank. Purchasing in bulk can save you money.

A new page will open with your barcode image. On the left, you will see various customisation options.

  • Print Method: The default is set to "Labels," but you can choose other options based on your needs.
  • Mag Factor: Adjust the size of your barcode. The standard size (100%) is 37mm wide by 23mm high. You can reduce it to 85% for smaller items or increase it to 120% when space is not an issue.
  • DPI: Dots per inch should match your printer's specifications. The higher the DPI, the better the quality. A minimum of 300 DPI is recommended.
  • Image Format: Choose the format for your barcode image. Options include JPG, PNG, and EPS. EPS files are high-quality and preferred by designers but can only be opened with specialist software.
