Following on from our fundraising activities last year where we raised £10,000 for The Silver Line, this year the team are taking on a different challenge – the UK’s highest freefall abseil, the ArcelorMittal Orbit.
A team of six from GS1 UK are abseiling to raise money for GS1 UK’s charity partner, The Silver Line. Launched in November 2013, The Silver Line is the only free, national, confidential helpline open every day and night, offering information, friendship and advice to older people. The helpline has received more than one million calls - over two-thirds were made overnight or at weekends when no other helpline is available for older people who may be lonely, isolated or confused.
GS1 UK raised £10,000 in our first year supporting The Silver Line. So far we’ve held cake sales, jeans days, pub quizzes, film screenings, sports activities and now an abseil! To donate to the team, visit their JustGiving page where all contributions will be gratefully received.
