GS1 UK Champion Award Winner 2016 - Dominic Hawkins

Dominic Hawkins, Customer Supply Chain Manager (UK & International) at Nestlé said: “I’m delighted to win the GS1 UK industry champion award in retail for our work with Digital DNA, a collaborative industry programme that will deliver lasting change by providing high quality product data for the consumer. By collaborating with other leading retailers and suppliers we’re aiming to enhance the consumer experience in this increasingly digital age.”

GS1 UK Champion Award Winner 2016 - Leanne Gorin

Leanne Gorin, Head of Customer Operations at Unilever said: “I’m pleased to have won a GS1 UK industry champion award for retail. Unilever has supported the GS1 UniqueID initiative since the beginning, as we recognise the importance of industry working together to solve the challenges around unique product identification. As part of the project we’ve delivered the new GS1 GTIN Management Standard, helping make product identification easier and more efficient for everyone in the industry - saving us all time and money.”

GS1 UK Champion Award Winner 2016

Jane Hawkes, Head of Procurement and Supplies at North Tees and Hartlepool Hospitals NHS Trust said: “It gives me the greatest pleasure to accept the GS1 UK industry champion award for healthcare on behalf of our team. Bringing GS1 standards to a wider audience is a key priority for us – as we’re all eager to drive their broad adoption both within our hospital and further afield. Being one of the first adopters, as a Scan4Safety Demonstrator site, we’re always keen to showcase our progress so we can share our learnings.”

We warmly congratulate all three winners of this year’s GS1 UK industry champion awards. All three have strongly demonstrated real desire and drive to work with us to further the development and adoption of GS1 standards, both within their business and the wider industry. We look forward to continue working with them, to promote industry collaboration and develop industry-wide solutions that will help everyone provide a better customer or patient experience.”

Gary Lynch, CEO at GS1 UK

The inaugural GS1 UK champion awards were introduced in our previous AGM in November 2015 where Tesco PLC, NHS South of England Procurement Services and New Look all won.
