Overall purpose
This is an exciting new opportunity to support the marketing team and other departments by designing and creating digital content across our website, communication channels and member area.
You’ll play a key role in evolving our brand and finding new ways to elevate our existing content across social media by producing captivating graphics, images and videos to tell a story and engage our audience.
Key responsibilities
Working closely with the marketing team and the digital lead you will be responsible for evolving the GS1 UK brand digitally by:
- Social media content creation: Developing visually captivating graphics, typography, images, and videos for our various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin and TikTok) to engage and interact with our audiences
- Email marketing campaigns: Crafting visually appealing email templates and graphics to enhance our email marketing efforts and effectively communicate with our members
- Providing layouts and designs for improvements to our website and other digital platforms
- Display advertising: Supporting the marketing team with digital creative requirements such as banners, images, MPUs and GIFs
Alongside responsibilities in the digital space the digital designer will work closely with the lead graphic designer to:
- Design and create artwork and graphics for projects, events and campaigns including presentation design
- Interpret and expand on a wide range of briefs, offering creative input and original ideas
- Ensure consistency in designs and content is on brand, across all GS1 UK platforms
- Help develop clear, innovative and well-defined visual language for the brand
- Manage our digital asset management system by keeping assets up to date, organised and easily accessible for others
Background and experience
Essential
- You have a degree in graphic design or a related field
- 1-2 years proven experience in a graphic design/digital design role
- A portfolio of previous digital design work to showcase creative skills covering image editing, typography, animation, social content and layout composition
- Proven background in designing high-quality creatives for social media and a keen eye for creating content that resonates with audiences
- Creative thinker, proficient in a broad range of programmes
- In-depth knowledge of using Adobe Creative Suite e.g. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage multiple projects at any given time
- Confidence in taking briefs and developing them when needed
- Exceptional attention to detail to deliver high quality and accurate content
Desirable
- Previous experience using design software programmes such as Figma
- Strong motion design and editing skills
