Why consumers are calling for greater food transparency

Tuesday 5 October | 8:30am - 9:30am

On 1 October 2021, Natasha’s Law will come into effect with the aim of increasing transparency within the food and beverage industry.

But with a fifth of Brits believing they have a food allergy, and only one is six able to identify any allergens in common food groups, will Natasha’s Law go far enough to help inform and protect consumers?

To discuss this issue, and the role that open, global GS1 standards have to play in supporting consumer safety, we have brought together an expert panel, consisting of Professor Adam Fox (paediatric allergy consultant), Coral Rose (Country Range Group) and Anne Godfrey (CEO at GS1 UK).

Together our panellist will discuss:

  • Why the food and beverage industry must become more accountable
  • How companies are preparing for the implementation of Natasha’s Law
  • How GS1 standards are being used to inform and protect consumers
