Digital Construction Week, the UK’s leading event focused on innovation and technology in the built environment, returns on 5 and 6 June at Excel London.
Featuring over 300 speakers, 150 exhibitors and more than 120 hours of content, it offers a valuable opportunity to learn about the latest trends in digital construction, from BIM and AI to robotics, sustainable solutions and more.
We are pleased to announce that GS1 UK, alongside our partners at Zebra Technologies and The Barcode Warehouse, will be speaking and exhibiting at this year’s show.
Collaborate, connect and share
So, come and visit us on stand D675 and join over 6,000 other attendees to collaborate, connect and share ideas from across the digital construction community.
Our stand will showcase how GS1 UK, Zebra and The Barcode Warehouse can support you on your digital transformation journey as well as some of the innovative new solutions - powered of GS1 standards - that are enhancing efficiency, safety, traceability and sustainability across the built environment.
We will also be joined by some of our colleagues from GS1 in Europe who will be sharing insights and practical examples of how GS1 standards are shaping the future of construction on the continent.
And don’t miss out on the opportunity to try our GS1 “demonstrator”; a dynamic, extensible platform that provides a virtual demonstration of GS1 identifiers and the GS1 Digital Link standard “in the field”.
Digital construction and unique identification: Proposed framework for a digital record
5 June, 10:00 am - 10:30 am, Innovation Stage
GS1 UK head of construction, Shervin Yousefzadeh will be joined by Dr. Amir Khorasani, Digital Project Solution support specialist at BAM Nuttall, for a discussion on the importance of traceability in construction. The pair will explore how the Digital Record (DR) framework is emerging as a promising solution to the industry’s traceability challenges, encompassing information chains, supply chains, and unique identification systems to provide stakeholders with accurate and up-to-date information.
This session will serve as a catalyst for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation; empowering participants to chart a course towards a safer, more transparent and sustainable built environment.
Blueprint for progress: A perspective on digital product passports in construction
5 June, 11:30 am - 12:15 pm, Information Management Exchange Theatre
Join Lars Christian Fredenlund, an industry leader in construction and information technology, in “Blueprint for progress: A perspective on Digital Product Passports in construction.” Explore the upcoming regulatory changes and the transformative shifts in construction, gaining insights that will be instrumental in navigating the evolving industry terrain.
This session will provide you with a deep understanding of Digital Product Passports (DPPs) in the context of the revised Construction Product Regulation (CPR) and Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).
Digitalising construction: The role of GS1 standards in Europe
5 June, 14:00-15:00, Table Talks Theatre
Join GS1 experts from across Europe for a lively round table discussion on the impact of unique identification and barcoding in the construction industry. Discover how GS1 standards are being implemented in countries like Norway, Poland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Ireland, and beyond.
Discuss the challenges and opportunities of improving access to product data, and explore how it enhances safety, boosts efficiency, and improves maintenance. Share your insights, ask questions, and exchange ideas with peers on the future of digitisation in construction.
Building a safer future: How CCPI and GS1 standards are transforming construction
5 June, 15:00-16:00, Table Talks Theatre
Join Amanda Long, CEO of CCPI, and GS1 UK experts for an engaging round table discussion on the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) and its critical role in transforming the construction sector. Delve into how CCPI, developed in response to the Grenfell Tower tragedy, sets new standards for clear, accurate and reliable product information. Explore the connection between CCPI and the use of unique identifiers such as GS1 standards to enhance safety, compliance, and efficiency in construction projects.
Understand how CCPI’s stringent criteria for product information can drive cultural change and improve trust among stakeholders. Discuss the challenges and opportunities of implementing CCPI across the supply chain, and how leveraging GS1 standards can further streamline processes and ensure better data management.
Streamlining 3D design: ETIM MC and the uniform object library
6 June, 10:30 - 11:00, Information Management Stage
Featuring Richard Appleton, head of digitalisation at the Electrical Distributors Association, this session will focus on ETIM, the international standard for technical product data covering all construction sectors.
Appleton will explore how ETIM MC data can be used in conjunction with unique product identifiers, such as the GTIN, to produce cost-effective, manufacturer-specific 3D data, why it is rapidly taking root in Europe and its potential benefits for the UK market.
