Overall purpose
Helping to teach members and partners about the value of GS1 standards and coordinating GS1 internal teams to assist with implementing it. Being the mediator between our members and the ecommerce platforms that require them.
Job responsibilities
Core
- Responsible for delivering agreed programmes and KPI’s from the Marketplaces Strategy and GS1 UK Operating Plan
- Establishing and maintaining GS1 UK as a trusted advisor within the Marketplaces sector and with key accounts by supporting members and platforms with neutral advice
- Grow GS1 UK brand awareness, increasing its relevance within the Marketplaces and ecommerce sector through relevant, targeted networking and collaboration
- Provide insight and knowledge, of the evolving needs of marketplaces and their partners trading in the UK, back into the organisation to ensure GS1’s ongoing relevance to members
- Provide business expertise and ecommerce experience to help members and partners and community partners adopt and implement GS1 standards and understand the GS1 system
- Develop targeted marketing materials, reports, case studies, press releases, brochures and any other required materials (in conjunction with other teams, as required) and speak at or coordinate relevant event
Additional
- Manage pilot projects and initial implementations within the sector to drive initial adoption of GS1 standards and services
- Ensure activities and opportunities are recorded in Netsuite
- Represent GS1 UK at industry seminars and exhibitions
- Liaise with other GS1 Member Organisations and GS1 Global Office to support a global GS1 offering
- Support the growth and delivery of GS1 UK training initiatives to improve standards education within the sector
- Monthly reporting of sector data and plans in support of accurate and timely management information
- Support the mainainance of standards by joining GSMP related activities, such as group calls, as required
Background and experience
Essential
- Highly motivated, self aware and resilient
- Substantial experience in ecommerce either with a retailer, consultancy or technology provider
- Extensive knowledge of the major marketplaces, their partners and trading communities, supported by a strong network of contacts
- A good understanding of ecommerce business data requirements and challenges
- Fully conversant in the key trends affecting marketplaces and their communities
- Experience in facilitating collaborative programmes with agreed solutions and outcomes
- Able to engage and communicate effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- Proven track record of working collaboratively within cross-functional teams to deliver against strategic plans
- Has been accountable for producing clear action plans for the ecommerce sector and successfully delivering against them
- Excellent project management skills
Desirable
- Understanding/appreciation of the GS1 system and standards
- Knowledge of Amazon Vendor platform and processes
- Experience of using Netsuite CRM system
