Overall Purpose:
To manage and be responsible for marketing of GS1 UK membership and standards to small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) along developing the marketing plan to generate GS1 UK’s awareness in the construction sector.
Job responsibilities
Lead the marketing planning for SME, membership and construction
Working in collaboration with our SME, membership and construction teams, develop marketing strategies and plans to achieve agreed business and marketing objectives for each area, including:
- Supporting the teams in their goal to increase awareness, accelerate lead generation, acquisition and engagement of GS1 UK members
- Produce marketing communications to clearly articulate the benefits of GS1, our standards and partners to prospective members and existing members of GS1 UK
- Plan, manage and deliver creative impactful campaigns and events to nurture and deliver new members to GS1 UK
- Ensure all available marketing channels are used to maximum effect, including online, email, PPC and social media
- Drive the optimisation of campaigns by analysing targeting, creative, messaging and a compelling value proposition
- Review and report on all campaigns against the agreed objectives, and identify key learnings that will increase the effectiveness of future campaigns
- Constantly be looking for and engaging in ways to improve channel performance and output
- Identify key industry trends and innovations to deliver new and exciting acquisition plans helping to define key new customer groups to target
Lead on developing strategies and campaigns for member and subscriber renewals
Together with other members of the marketing and member experience team you’ll lead on:
- Developing a strategy and plan for retention of GS1 UK membership
- Work with member experience team to optimise renewal journeys and process
Responsible for maximising relationships and opportunities with GS1 UK community partner network
- Develop collaborative marketing plans with our community partners to drive new member acquisition and current member value
- Manage GS1 UK online and offline presence on partner channels – including sponsorship opportunities, content generation, speaking opportunities and events
Content creation and management
Working closely with the PR and content marketing manager and other members of the marketing team, you will also:
- Create compelling and impactful content by writing, editing and proofing content and communications for promotional material, online content, social media, email campaigns and newsletters
- Manage and develop collateral to support the teams including a presentation library. Creating a core set of slides covering market positioning, strategic focus areas and core services and ad-hoc presentations required to support our spokespeople at conferences and events
- Identify opportunities for supporting imagery, infographics and video that simplify our messaging and relay complex processes and ideas in creative formats, and manage the process to create this content
- Ensure our website is maintained by updating and posting all agreed digital content
Background and experience
Essential
- Professional marketing qualification - degree, CIM, CAM
- Solid experience as a marketing professional, working with and managing external agencies, to implement effective marketing campaigns integrating all communication channels
- Prior experience in customer or retention marketing with a track-record of demonstrable business results through testing and deploying campaigns
- Be data driven, analytical and curious in unpicking new opportunities
- Experience of product/service marketing in a B2B environment
- Experience working with key campaign management tools and platforms (eg. Meta and LinkedIn ad manager)
- Experience in launching subscription products and delivering high volume growth
- Project management and planning skills
- Exceptional copywriting and editing skills
- Ability to use email marketing and automation software, delivering proven results
- Consultative style, able to work as a team with other key stakeholders in an organisation of our size
- Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills
- Proactive, enthusiastic and committed – a can-do attitude
- The ability to understand and explain complex ideas in creative ways

Desirable
- Knowledge and experience of small businesses is desirable but not essential
- Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, PremierePro
- Experience of using Oracle NetSuite
- Experience of HubSpot marketing automation
