Accountabilities:
This role will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the ‘QR codes powered by GS1’ programme on behalf of GS1 UK, with a specific focus on leading & maintaining high levels of communication across a diverse range of stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
Programme Management
- Embed programme governance, incl. setting the agenda for steering committee together with Head of QR, owning cadence of meetings, establishing knowledge sharing channels, ensuring cascade of information across organisation and preparing the content for senior leadership discussions.
- Support the development and maintenance of project plans, including milestones, timelines and resource requirements.
- Act as the connection point across the organisation on programme related topics, ensuring programme progress:
• Effectively address unforeseen challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.
• Maintain the risks and issues log, capturing potential risks and monitoring mitigation plans.
• Help teams navigate changes in project scope, schedule and resources & ensure relevant stakeholders are kept informed.
- Provide personal insight, analysis and recommendations to the programme team and sterring committee to inform decision making.
- Continually identify, recommend and implement improvements to the necessary processes and systems to increase the efficiency and quality of our decisions.
- Work with Head of QR on setting the long term strategy and short term goals for the programme, including conducting market research.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Carry out other duties as agreed with the Head of QR, such as leading and delivering specific programme objectives.

Background and experience
Essential
- Experience in project leadership and management.
- Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, systems and techniques.
- Proven track record of working collaboratively within cross-functional teams to deliver against strategic plans.
- Demonstrable experience in producing clear action plans and successfully delivering against them.
Desirable
- Retail industry experience, incl. a good understanding of the retail value chain, consumer challenges and digitalisation opportunities.
- Experience in digital transformation and implementation of technology innovation.
- Recognised project management qualification (PRINCE 2 or similar).
- Consulting background.
- Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (e.g. Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) and cyber security awareness aligned with the UK Cyber Essentials framework, including secure working practices, threat recognition, and responsible data handling.
