Terms and conditions for 'Win a pop-up in John Lewis, delivered in partnership with IND!E'

1. Agreement to terms

By entering the IND!E x GS1 UK Pop‑Up competition (the “Win a pop-up in John Lewis, delivered in partnership with IND!E”), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.


2. Organisers

The competition is jointly organised by: IND!E, Royal House, 110 Station Parade, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG1 1EP and GS1 UK, Hasilwood House, 60 Bishopsgate, London, EC2N 4AW

Together referred to as the “Organisers”.


3. Competition overview

IND!E and GS1 UK are partnering to provide GS1 UK members with the opportunity to participate in IND!E pop‑up shops located within selected John Lewis stores across the UK. The competition aims to support retail‑ready brands by offering a fully funded pop‑up retail experience.


4. Eligibility to enter
 

To be eligible to enter the competition, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

-Be a GS1 UK member at the time of entry
-Be a UK‑registered business
-Be retail ready, with products and packaging suitable for a physical retail environment
-Have sufficient stock available for the duration of the pop‑up
-Have products priced appropriately for retail sales
-Have all relevant compliance measures in place for their product category
-Hold a minimum of £5 million in business insurance
-Where applicable, hold valid health and hygiene certification for sampling

The following categories are not eligible:

-Food & Drink brands
-Skincare brands
-Children’s clothing or toy brands

The Organisers reserve the right to request evidence of eligibility at any stage.


5. How to enter

Entry is free of charge. To enter, participants must complete the competition submission form provided by GS1 UK within the entry period. Only one entry per business is permitted.


6. Entry period

Competition launch: Week commencing 23 February
Competition closing date: Wednesday 1 April

Entries submitted after the closing date will not be considered.


7. Shortlisting and selection process

GS1 UK will review all eligible entries and submit a shortlist of applicants to IND!E during the week commencing 6 April. IND!E will select the final winners from the shortlisted applicants. Final winner selection will be completed by 15 April.


8. The prize

There are four prizes available. Each winner will receive:

A fully funded opportunity to participate in an IND!E pop‑up shop within selected John Lewis stores (non‑food and drink categories only)

Potential store locations include (but are not limited to):
Cambridge, Cardiff, Chichester, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Ipswich, Kingston, Leeds, Newcastle, Norwich, Nottingham, Peter Jones, Poole, Reading, Southampton, Stratford, Welwyn Garden City, and White City.


Pop‑up shops will commence from late May, with exact dates and locations confirmed by IND!E.
The prize:

Is non‑transferable
Cannot be exchanged for cash
Must be accepted as awarded

 

9. Costs


Winners will not be charged for participation in the pop‑up but remain responsible for their own stock, staffing, travel, and any additional operational costs.


10. Winner notification


Winners will be notified by email using the contact details provided during entry. If a selected winner does not respond within 7 days of notification, the Organisers reserve the right to select an alternative winner.


11. Data protection and publicity


By entering the competition, entrants agree that their data may be shared between GS1 UK and IND!E for the purposes of administering the competition. Winners agree to the publication of their business name and brand for promotional purposes. All personal data will be processed in accordance with GS1 UK’s privacy policy and applicable data protection laws.


12. General

The Organisers reserve the right to cancel, amend, or withdraw the competition and these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. The Organisers’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The competition and these terms and conditions are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
