Terms and conditions for 'Winning in FMCG: Grow your business and reach £10k in monthly sales'

1. Agreement to terms

By entering the YF x GS1 UK Starter programme competition draw, you agree to these terms and conditions.

2. Organisers

The competition is being run by GS1 UK and YF.

3. Partnership overview

YF and GS1 UK are partnering to support founders of new FMCG challenger brands. This initiative aims to provide meaningful benefits to GS1 UK members. The YF Starter programme includes access to weekly advisory sessions, a private WhatsApp group, tools and templates, a database of resources, and event invitations. It is application-only and GS1 UK members have the chance to win a free place on the programme (usually £5,000)

4. Eligibility to enter
  • The applicant must be a Founder, Co-Founder, MD, or CEO aged 19 or over.
  • The business must be an FMCG brand or business scaling into retail.
  • The business must be registered on Companies House UK.
  • Generating below £10k in monthly sales.
  • UK residents and registered businesses only.
5. How to enter

Entry is free of charge. To enter, participants must have registered to the webinar link provided by GS1 UK to be considered for the programme. Only one entry per company is allowed.

6. Entry period

The competition starts on Wednesday 23 April 2025 and closes on Saturday 31 May depending on the number of applicants.

7. The prize

The winner will receive a free place on the YF Starter Programme (worth £5,000). The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable and no cash alternative is available.

8. Winner selection and notification

The winner will be selected at random by YF from all eligible entries and notified by email no later than 31st May. If the winner does not respond within 7 days, another winner will be selected.

9. Webinar launch event

A one-hour webinar titled 'Winning in FMCG: 5 Things That Founders Need to Know' will take place on 20 May 2025. Speakers will include Kat Waring (GS1 UK), Thea Alexander (YF), and Hollie Russell (Starter Programme participant).

10. Data protection and publicity

Entrants agree to have their data shared between GS1 UK and YF for administering the opportunity. The winner agrees to the publication of their first name and business. All data will be handled in accordance with GS1 UK's privacy policy.

11. General

YF and GS1 UK reserve the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. The competition and these terms are governed by English law and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
