1. By entering the funding opportunity in partnership with YF, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

Eligibility to enter

3. The fund is open to entrants over 18 years of age and GS1 UK members in the following product categories: Health, beauty and cosmetics, food and grocery, drinks and beverages, foodservice and category.
4. In entering the fund opportunity, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the £5,000 fund from YF.
5. Open to UK brands only. 

How to enter

6. Submissions for the fund are open from 24th October 2023 and close at midnight on 7th November. 
7. To enter the funding opportunity, you will need to complete the SurveyMonkey application form sent to you via email link from GS1 UK. 
8. GS1 UK will not accept responsibility if contact details provided are incomplete or inaccurate.

The fund

9. £5,000 fund to be used on supply chain consultancy services offered by YF. There are five fund prizes worth £5,000 each.  
10. The five winners will be chosen by a panel of GS1 UK and YF representatives, including an independent representative, as per a set judging criterion.    
11. The fund is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternatives will be offered.
12. We reserve the right to substitute prizes with another fund/prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary to do so.
13. The decision of TLC regarding any aspect of the fund is final and binding and no
correspondence will be entered into about it.
14. The fund must be used by 31st July 2024 – expires thereafter
15. The winning fund amount of £5,000 excludes VAT.

The offer

16. All entrants for this funding application, will receive 50% discount off a subscription to join the YF community. 
17. Discount is available for new YF Community members only. 
18. After the applicant has submitted their application, they will receive an email from YF with details on how to claim the offer.

Winner announcement

19. The winner will be notified after 7 October 2023 and will be contacted by email by YF to discuss next steps and how to claim and utilise the funds.
20. If the winner does not respond to the emails notifying them of their win within 14 days of the second email, they will lose their right to the prize, and YF/GS1 UK reserves the right to choose and notify a new winner.

Data protection and publicity

21. You consent to any personal information and responses you provide to be shared with YF, so that they can contact you in regards to the fund if you are a successful applicant and provide details about the community membership offer. 

22. All entrants may apply for details of the winning participant by contacting us at marketing@gs1uk.org. 
23. The successful fund applicant agrees to the release of their first name and place of work. 
24. An announcement of the winners first name and place of work will be made on GS1 UK social media and email channels.
25. All personal information shall be used in accordance with GS1 UK’s Privacy Notice.

Limitation of Liability

26. GS1 UK does not provide any form of practical or support for this prize. On receipt, all responsibilities relating to warranty and the product are that of the prize winner.

General

27. GS1 UK reserves the right to cancel the funding opportunity or amend these terms and conditions at anytime, without prior notice.
28. The fund opportunity and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Who is eligible for this fund?
 
Eligibility for this fund is extended to GS1 members seeking support in optimising their supply chain operations.
 
What if the scope of my project is less than £5,000?
 
If the scope of the project is less than £5,000, YF is committed to working in good faith with the brand to ensure that the delivered service aligns as closely as possible to the £5,000 benchmark.  
 
What if the scope of my project exceeds £5,000?
 
In cases where the project scope surpasses £5,000, the surplus amount beyond the £5,000 mark will need to be paid by the brand.

How quickly can the work begin if I win the grant?
 
Upon confirmation of your fund award, you will schedule a discovery call at the earliest mutual convenience and commence the project on agreed timelines between both parties.

When does the grant expire?
 
The fund must be used by 31st July 2024. Should a project be initiated before this date and continue past it, the grant remains applicable. If any project with YF is initiated prior to July 31st 2024, the grant will no longer be valid.
 
What if my application is refused?
 
In the event that your application is declined, you will be duly notified. However, all applicants, regardless of the outcome, will receive a 50% discount on a YF Community membership for the year 2024, which can be redeemed if they are not already an active YF Community member.
 
How is the fund paid?
 
Winners will be able to use their fund on any bespoke supply chain services offered by YF they may require.
 
Does the fund include VAT?
 
The fund amount is exclusive of VAT.
 
How is the decision made?
 
Upon submission of an application, both GS1 and YF conduct a due diligence process involving an assessment of the business’s financial stability, whether you have a clear project that is both realistic and achievable, if the project meets a genuine need for your business and will achieve long-term benefit for the organisation.
