Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)

Improving inventory management with an
item-level view of the products in your supply chain.

We’re helping to simplify supply chains and improve efficiency, making sure you have the information you need to deliver the outstanding service your customers expect.

Our Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) standard is an alternative to barcodes when it comes to automatically identifying and capturing data. Just like a barcode, your product is uniquely identified, but with RFID the data is read and captured using radio waves.

EPC

What is RFID?

With RFID, each of your products is uniquely identified with an Electronic Product Code (EPC), which is encoded in an RFID tag. Radio waves read and capture the information stored on the tag, which means it can be read from several metres away and doesn’t need to be within direct line-of-sight of the reader to be tracked.

This item-level tagging lets you know where each individual product is in your internal and external supply chains, so you get a much clearer view of your inventory and operational processes.

Why use RFID?

Speed

Speed

Multiple tags can be read at the same time, at distance, and without needing to be in line-of-sight of the reader.

Accuracy

Accuracy

Your product’s globally unique identifier can be encoded into the RFID tag just like in a barcode, so it can be automatically and unambiguously identified.

Mulit-purpose

Multi-purpose

RFID technology can be used to uniquely identify livestock and vehicles, as well as items in warehouses, hospitals, shops, and more.

Item-level traceability

Tagging at an individual item level means you can locate products across your supply chains.
