Speakers included Pat Mills, Commercial Director for the Department of Health and our Head of Healthcare, Glen Hodgson
Over 1,000 key buyers and decision makers from across all areas of the NHS came together this week to watch leading experts give their view on the current and future landscape of NHS public sector procurement in the UK. It was great to see so many people show such enthusiasm for the programmes introduced by the Lord Carter report and the efficiencies they’ll bring to procurement in the NHS.
Glen Hodgson presented on our plans to drive adoption of GS1 standards across Acute Trusts in England, and the role of suppliers in this. Beyond our own presentation, GS1 standards were also referenced by Pat Mills when he explained his plan to fund 25 more GS1 and PEPPOL demonstrator sites in the next financial year. This will be in addition to the 6 sites that received a share of £12m funding from the Department of Health earlier this year and reaffirms their commitment to rolling out GS1 standards across all Acute Trusts in England by 2020.
