Our retail team

Maximising engagement, growth and standards adoption in retail

Our retail team is responsible for ensuring we have the right approach and programmes in place. They promote growth and standards adoption through engagement and collaboration with a broad base of industry stakeholders, including trade associations, key industry commentators, solution providers and different member businesses, ensuring that we are responding to trends and focusing our activities on industry priorities.

The team keeps a keen eye on GS1’s global activities too, and often gets groups from industry together to collaborate on common challenges.

The last 10 years at Tesco I was based in Poland and the Czech Republic where I was developing the supply chain and integrating businesses acquired across Central Europe where I worked closely with the local GS1 organisations. My early career was in a number of Distribution roles with United Biscuits.

Engagement manager

I joined GS1 UK in  2014 and am responsible for developing new relationships with grocery retailers, with whom GS1 UK are not currently in active dialogue. My focus is on understanding the needs of this sector and using the insight to propose where GS1 standards and solutions can add value right through to the consumer.

Before joining GS1 UK, I was with Best Buy, the US electronics retailer managing direct sourced product into Europe from Asia. The majority of my career has been with Sainsbury’s in a variety of supply chain roles covering domestic logistics and global imports.
