Changes to additional numbers pricing

Effective 10 May 2026, we are changing our prices for additional numbers.

As a not-for-profit organisation, our pricing reflects the cost of maintaining the global standards, tools and support our members rely on.

For more than 10 years, the price of licensing additional prefixes for your Global Trade Items (GTINs) has remained unchanged, during which time we have absorbed rising operational costs despite sustained high inflation.

To ensure we can continue to support our members with high quality, personalised services such as My GS1 and My Numberbank and expert support, we will be introducing a modest price increase for additional prefixes.

FAQs

As a not‑for‑profit organisation, we focus on delivering value for money. We have held prices for additional prefixes for over 10 years while absorbing increased costs.

These modest price increases will help us continue to meet members’ evolving needs and deliver high‑quality support, products and services. These include personalised services such as My GS1 and My Numberbank and expert support.

For existing members: Price changes apply to additional numbers from 10 May 2026 (including GTIN‑8, GTIN‑12, GTIN‑13, coupons and variable measures).

For new joiners and new purchases: New prices apply from 10 May 2026.

Members renewing on or after the 10 May 2026 will have the price increase applied to their 2026/27 invoice.

Members renewing before 10 May 2026 will pay the current price for additional numbers. New prices will apply at your next renewal in 2027.

We will review additional number pricing annually to ensure it remains aligned to market expectations and delivers value for members.

Prefixes containing active GTINs must be paid for annually.

If a prefix is no longer in use, you can contact member support to request deactivation. Once deactivated, you will not be charged for that prefix.

Please note: once a prefix is deactivated, Amazon and retailers will be notified. Any Amazon listings or products in the supply chain using inactive GTINs may be affected, so we recommend checking all GTINs carefully before proceeding.
