We’ve been proudly working with the food and drinks sector for over 40 years.
From scanning the first barcoded product, right up to the launch of productDNA, our new cloud-based product data management system for suppliers and retailers both large and small.
Our community has continued to grow to over 37,000, and increasingly our new members are small businesses getting ready to trade. In response to this, GS1 UK is developing a programme to provide better support for SMEs and is delighted to announce a partnership with the Young Foodies, a community of new and growing UK food and drink brands.
"Young Foodies has made a huge impact in the food & beverage community as a champion of cool new brands and a great source of growth hacks and networking,” says Holly Porter, Chief Marketing Officer at GS1 UK.
Our partnership will help GS1 UK to be more visible to new brands who are just starting their journey to become retail-ready, but it will also provide our existing food & drink SME members with access to Young Foodies expertise.
We both share a common goal to support small business within this sector, and this partnership will enable us to reach out to help more SMEs on using GS1 standards in their business.”
Theadora Alexander, co-founder of Young Foodies, comments, “We are incredibly proud to partner exclusively with GS1 UK to make barcoding simpler and easier. We have ambitions for the industry to change to better respond to the needs of young brands and it is incredibly inspiring that this very well established, forward-thinking multi-national organization recognizes this too."
