We’re visiting Salisbury and Leeds NHS Trusts to train key suppliers on GS1 standards

Find out from our experts what you need to do to make your business GS1 compliant

In May 2014, the Department of Health published the NHS eProcurement Strategy, making it mandatory for NHS Trusts, and their suppliers, to use GS1 standards. With the imminent announcement of six demonstrator sites that will receive central funding, and updated timescales for adoption recently published, NHS suppliers have a key role to play in ensuring Trusts meet their GS1 implementation goals. As part of the training support available through our Academy, we’ll be running training workshops at both Salisbury and Leeds NHS Trusts to help suppliers and key staff get started on becoming GS1 compliant. Key topic areas will include:

  • How GS1 standards are improving healthcare supply chains
  • What suppliers need to do to meet global regulations for pharmaceuticals and medical devices
  • How GS1 standards are used to automate a many hospital use cases, including recalls, surgical instrument tracking and inventory management
  • Next steps for GS1 implementation
  • The resources available to help you

The sessions will take place on Friday 4 March, 10am-3pm at Salisbury District Hospital and on Wednesday 9 March, 10am-3pm at Leeds Teaching Hospital.
