When you create your first barcodes there can be a lot to take in, and you don’t want to make any mistakes – imagine the cost of re-packaging all your products if the barcode doesn’t scan? Our barcode image review service helps you prevent mistakes so you have nothing to worry about and can trade easily. We’ll check everything and provide you with a report identifying areas for improvement.
What we check
Your barcode image undergoes a detailed check using a verifier that meets the latest global standards. We make sure:
- The Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) or Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) is in the correct format
- The barcode is correctly sized and positioned
- Appropriate colours are used
- Your label design allows for accurate scanning
We then provide a report outlining recommended improvements, along with support for whatever you need to do.
What we don’t check
It is important to understand that full verification of barcodes can only be carried out on final product samples as barcode quality depends on the printing process and packaging material. We recommend that a full verification service is used to check final barcodes as they are printed on your final products. A number of our accredited barcode solution providers offer full verification services and they can be found using the partner finder. Or arrange an on-site visit from one of our barcode experts
GS1 UK member: £15 +VAT per submission
Non GS1 UK member: £30 +VAT per submission
Each submission allows you to get one barcode or label reviewed. You can redeem these at any point throughout the year.
