Spring Fair is the UK's largest trade show for gift and home products, attracting over 60,000 buyers, wholesalers and retailers from around the world.
It’s an important and growing sector for many of our SME members.
GS1 UK attended the event to learn how businesses from both here and abroad, are using GS1 product identifiers within their industry – and also to help with any of those burning questions on barcodes. The event took place earlier this week at the NEC Birmingham, all packed into 20 halls. Together with our partners at the Great British Exchange, we also presented a stand with some great curated collections from emerging British brands.
We have also been working closely with the Wholesale Forum, who attended the event to launch their new help and resource website– a vital new tool all wholesale buyers and suppliers.
Our members win at Spring Fair
We were delighted to see many of our members at the event. Peace and Blessings, who we recently featured in ‘meet the member’, received the award for gift of the year in the stationary category. Congratulations!
Story drinks were there talk about their new zero sugar editions, which was very well received. And there was a popular demonstration by Joe Wicks who was launching his new range of cookware with manufacturer Meyer Group – all GS1 UK members too.
Armed with comfy shoes, Lorna Beament, Engagement manager at GS1 UK, said ‘there were so many varieties of products to see, that it would take you 2 days to walk around the exhibition!’ And proving that Spring Fair is the place to showcase all kinds of products, Lorna met Lewis the Dulux dog and got back into the festive spirit with all the Christmas products on offer.
Thank you to everyone we met at this fantastic exhibition – and look out for more information on the next Autumn Fair 2018, in our online seller newsletters.
