Department of Health announces update to the eProcurement strategy

Latest news for the Scan4Safety programme including Unique Device Identification (UDI) timelines and the Department of Health collaboration with the NHS Business Services Authority and NHS Supply Chain

The NHS eProcurement strategy update has been released to clarify the Department of Health’s position on the adoption of GS1 and PEPPOL standards in Acute Trusts across England. It includes an update on master data exchange, announcing that they will now be piloting a master data validation and sharing service, in conjunction with the NHS Business Services Authority (BSA) and NHS Supply Chain (NHSSC).

The update also includes further details on UDI timelines and the decision from the Department of Health to maintain their original timeline for implementation.

If you’re an NHS Trust or a supplier to the NHS then it’s important you read the full document.
