Business process manager

Reports to:

Head of IS


  • Maintaining fit-for-purpose internal processes and procedures, supporting colleagues in their correct use.
  • Ensuring effective management of internal business data and number/prefix processes.
  • Work closely with business users to continuously improve internal systems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as the liaison between business and IS teams to ensure that changes to internal systems (primarily NetSuite) are managed appropriately and in line with internal policies and processes.
  • Support business users to correctly use internal systems and follow the associated processes; undertake knowledge transfer/training activities with staff as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation on all business systems and processes.
  • Support the Head of IS to ensure that data in internal systems is as accurate as possible and governed correctly.
  • Ensure GS1 UK is fully compliant with Data Protection/GDPR legislation.
  • Support the Head of IS to continually improve internal business processes where necessary/appropriate.
  • Ensure internal compliance with rules around number integrity and prefix/number allocation and document processes and controls surrounding it.
  • Carry out other duties as agreed with the Head of IS and/or Chief Financial Officer

Person specification

Background and experience:

  • Strong influencing skills with demonstrable experience at a middle/senior management level.
  • Experienced in change management, ideally within large, complex technology projects, working across stakeholders of all levels
  • Strong background in providing and analysing management information.
  • Good knowledge of Data Protection/GDPR legislation.


  • Experience in project leadership/management across a range of business areas
  • Knowledge of data quality issues facing retailers, small business and/or healthcare trusts/suppliers.
