Accountabilities

GS1 UK's purpose is to harness the power of standards to transform the way people work and live. Accountability for helping industry to implement GS1 standards and defining the subsequent adoption steps and supporting industry engagement to create and present proposals.

Key responsibilities

Core

  • Ensure fantastic quality personal and team service to anyone contacting us as part of the industry engagement activity, carry out discovery with key stakeholders, drilling down to develop a strong understanding of:
    • The stakeholders operating environment
    • The pain points and their priority and scale of impact
    • The business priorities
    • The infrastructure and systems
  • Clearly understand and present the capability and value of the GS1 UK standards and solutions through demonstrations and presentations
  • Understand how our solutions can be best utilised to meet their needs
  • Identify and understand key barriers to the stakeholders in adopting our solutions and support the identification of ways of overcoming these challenges
  • Agree the standards deployment and technical integration strategy
  • Communicate solutions to the stakeholders in a compelling way, ensuring the complex is made simple and easy to follow
  • Capture new feature requirements and feedback to internal stakeholders such as the product and standards teams
  • Providing demonstrations, presentations, training, consultation and sales support for the Industry Engagement teams

Additional

  • Provide input and support into GS1 UK projects and on-going activities based on the key deliverables of the GS1 UK strategic and operational plans
  • Support Industry Engagement in the development and delivery of a programme of activities to drive the adoption of GS1 standards
  • Input knowledge of supply chain processes, application of solutions and market trends into GS1 UK programmes, projects and activities

Background and experience:

  • Client facing – project scoping, proposal development, etc
  • Demonstrates expertise in understanding stakeholder requirements and developing compelling solutions
  • Experience of scoping and defining adoption strategies through matrix and partner management
  • Ability to assess feasibility and cost benefit of solutions as part of the overall development process
  • Good at problem solving
  • Experience in working with members/stakeholders in order to understand requirements to create solutions via people, processes and technology in a time sensitive environment
  • Experienced in a supply chain environment, software or information management
  • A good understanding of supply chain processes, technologies and solutions
  • Experience of leading and working in project teams
  • Project leadership experience
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to drive decisions and get closure on recommendations and issues
  • Experience in helping to drive and implement business change to improve business’ efficiency and effectiveness to better serve the needs of clients

Desirable:

  • A good understanding of the GS1 standards and solutions
  • Educated to degree or equivalent level
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycles and how they are applied
