The goal of the GS1 UK Forum is to promote the broader adoption of global supply chain standards for the benefit of industry. As such, it is an open forum that can be used by GS1 UK members and non members who have an interest in improving the efficiency, effectiveness and safety of supply chains through the used of technologies such as bar code standards, RFID, eCom, GDS. It is a tool for connecting with others who may be facing similar challenges, to learn from their experiences, discuss solutions, opportunities or simply to network.
There are certain guidelines you should be aware of before you post messages. In general, our guidelines are based on the fundamentals of common sense, respect and tolerance. GS1 UK asks that its users do not post material that is abusive, defamatory, libelous, harassing, hateful, or obscene. We will take appropriate steps to keep discussion in line with these guidelines.
This is a public forum and generally members of the forum will police the community themselves. Community members must treat each other with respect .If you have any comment, question or issue with any post then please report it directly to the forum administrator
The administrators of this site reserve the right, without notice, to access or view all material (including posts, profile information, emails sent through the forum software, and Personal Messages (PMs)), This means that we (GS1 UK and the volunteers for GS1 UK) reserve the right to edit/remove inappropriate messages, or to lock a discussion thread. Examples of posts that may be edited or deleted include posts containing profanity, chain letters and other spam postings, posts that disclose illegal bar code generation techniques or posts that reveal private information about another community member.
Some things to keep in mind when posting:
1.Respect the guidelines for forum usage, and site usage. Respect GS1 UK, its employees, volunteers, yourself, fellow community members, and guests on these boards.
2.You may not make personal attacks on other users or staff members either in public forums or private messages If you want to praise or criticise, give examples as to why it is good or bad, general attacks on a person or idea will not be tolerated.
4.Keep on topic: all threads should be part of the relevant forum and responses to a particular thread should be on-topic and pertain to the discussion. Users should use the New Topic button to start a new discussion which would otherwise be off-topic in the current thread. Threads that are off topic may be closed by the moderator.
6.Private Discussions: sometimes, a discussion thread strays off into a friendly dialogue or a heated debate among a very small number of users. For these exchanges, use the private messaging feature that is provided through the GS1 UK forums. Public forum posts should be reserved for matters of interest to the general community.
7.Posting Messages: posting the same message to many topics or boards is considered spam. Duplicate messages will be deleted or consolidated by our moderators. Remember to post in the correct forum, please do your best to post new topics to the appropriate forum board, moderators will move topics that are posted inappropriately.
8.Commercial Postings are not allowed. Commercial content as a direct or indirect (either intentional or non-intentional) attempt to solicit customers through a forum post will be edited or deleted. You may not advertise or promote illegal bar coding generation techniques and other companies or their products which may compete with those of GS1 UK. Notwithstanding the above, GS1 UK reserves the right to include limited commercial content in this Forum, in its sole discretion.
9. About our Moderators: Forum Moderators are community volunteers that give up their time to help build a better community. They will assist with focusing topics and enforcing guidelines. They have the ability to edit/delete posts, to move, close or delete topics, and to temporarily moderate users’ posts.
We reserve the right to ban any member who violates our guidelines or disrupts our community. We will be fair and provide warning in most cases.
If someone has posted copyrighted material or otherwise illegal material, please notify GS1 UK so that it may be removed.
