Solution provider search not working

When to issue a new barcode?

We supply a range of Childrens’s Wellingtons available in 3 different character designs and various sizes from 5 – 12. Each size and design has a unique barcode.

We are introducing new designs to replace the current items and I need to know if this change of design requires a new barcode to be issued, for each of the new sizes?

Company Prefix

Hi,

I am IS Co-ordinator for a company that co-packs fruit juice for mainstream brands. We are presently installing an RFID system into our main warehouse and as part of this wish to integrate SSCC barcoding.

My question is with regards to company prefixes, do we need to apply for a company prefix for ourselves or do we need individual company prefixes for EACH company that we are producing for?

To clarify we produce own brand products for major supermarkets and produced named brands for major brands.

Multi-packs and barcodes

Morning,

Can anyone tell me, do the indivdual products that are part of a multipack have to have there own EAN barcodes? Is this a legal requirement?

Seems pointless to me for them to have a barcode (apart from the obvious manufacturing savings).

I was trying to think of examples of products that are on sale I cannot rememebr any multi-packs that don't have barcodes on the indivdual products inside e.g. coca cola

Two barcode scanners in one PC

Hi

We have some software that we are writing, whereby we print passes with barcodes. I wish to have two barcode scanners plugged into the PC and know which barcode scanner received the scan of the barcode. With the USB barcode scanners they just send the information down to my application so I never know which barcode scanner it was that received the barcode. Are there addressable barcode scanners or does someone know of an alternative solution.

My comapny is soon launching a new product

My company is soon launching a new product in market which is still under manufacturing at a moment. Our plan is to sell it through retail stores and in order to do that we would require a barcode. Can any one help me as how to get a barcode and how much it will cost to me?

Would I be correct in thinking that the bar code symbologies used by national postal services such as Royal Mail in the UK and USPS in the USA do not come under the remit of GS1?

Are there any other major bar code systems apart from the mail that are not covered by GS1?

How to buy single bar codes in UK

Hello, looking at buying just a couple of barcodes for products in the uk does anyone know where I can do this ?

To buy 2 barcodes from GS1 costs over £200 and that is just for the numbers no images which is too much for the products will be selling. Have found a couple of sites based in New Zealand and Australia that re-sell single barcodes with provided image but nothing in the UK.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I encounter a problem with code128. In particular I need a tool to create the text code128 from a value (value-->startcharactervaluecheckdigitstopcharacter). Then I will apply the code128 fonts. To be more clear…I have to give a txt with data that they will be print. A part of these data must be print as barcode (code128). Because the printing machine has only the fonts (doesn't create check digit) and since txt cannot have barcode image I have to generate the code 128 text in the txt file (I can write code in vb6). What I have to do? Is there a tool (a dll maybe) that I can apply to my data and export to me the code128 text?

Ooo sorry just I realize that the start and stop don't have equivalent ASCII characters (like stars * in code39). If this is true then how can I include them in a txt file? Does the apply of the fonts do it and the only thing that I have to do is only to include in my txt the check digit?:w00t:

I'm planning to buy out a company, which produces and distributes boxes of matches. I want to know if I can keep on using the barcode they already use, or whether Ineed to register a new one. I'm actually quite interested in finding out information on this, but so far I can only find information about how to actually get a barcode, not on what happens to them in situations like this. I am based in the UK if that makes any difference.

EAN - rough costs

As a small business, sole trader I'm looking at selling on Amazon Marketplace but I've hit a small hurdle in that my area of sales requires an EAN before I can list my items.

Because I'm manufacturing the items myself they're unique and it seems I need to register my business and then my products individually to get the relevant EAN's to start selling.

What I can't seem to find is any indication of rough costings for things like business registration and/or the products themselves which I know tends to put folks like myself off.

Can someone provide a rough guide to the sorts of costs involved please.
